Tuesday, June 26, 2007
On June 23rd more than 185 runners and walkers participated in the fourth annual DeltaWare 5K Fun Run and 3K Walk. This marked the largest number of participants, raising more than $1,600 for Island Hospice.
“This year’s Fun Run was another great achievement for us” said Allana Biech, event chair, “We’re proud to be involved in the community and support Island Hospice.”
The race course started and ended at the Atlantic Technology Centre, winding though the downtown streets, through scenic Victoria Park, and along the waterfront.
The charity of choice this year was once again the Children's Wish Foundation, PEI chapter, which id dedicated to fulfilling a favorite wish for children with a high-risk, life threatning illness.
The event is organized by the staff of DeltaWare Systems, which prides itself on promoting a healthy lifestyle and participation in recreational activities, while at the same time giving back to the community. The organizing committee extends thanks to the numerous volunteers and local businesses that donated prizes and services, and the assistance of the PEI Roadrunners club.
